First Birthday

September 6th, 2010

Happy Birthday little dude! Crazy - One whole year! I have mixed emotions today, sad that my little guy is not a baby anymore – but super excited that he is moving on to toddlerhood, becoming so much more of his own little person. Just one year ago I met my best friend in the whole world. Noah has brought so much sunshine into my life. Although this year has flown by, it is hard to imagine what our life was like before he was the center of it. It breaks my heart that Eric can't be with us every day and can't experience every little think I can experience with Noah. It's just not fair. That's why I am even more excited that Eric is here for Noah's First Birthday and that we will go on a little trip together! Happy Birthday little dude, I can't even tell you how much Eric and I love you, we are so proud to be your parents and are very excited about the future with you! We love you with all our heart!

First molar

Friday, August 13, 2010

A couple of weeks ago on a Sunday when I was tickling Noah and he was laughing with his mouth wide open I shockingly saw a blue spot on his gums. I looked at it closer and it looked like a blood blister on his gums. I ask my mom if she could look at it and if she had seen anything like this before but she hadn't. I was pretty concerned and decided to go to the doctor the next day. That evening when Noah was in bed I researched online and found that a lot of teething babies seemed to have this when the molars are coming through. Apparently when the teeth is coming through slowly and is pushing against a blood vessel a blue spot is visible but disappears when the tooth is through the gum. I went to the doctor and she told me exactly the same thing and today - hurray - the blue spot is gone and his first molar is visible! Tough little peanut!

Yesterday Noah took his first step! We were in the kitchen and Noah was standing up playing in his playpen. I was on the other side of the playpen and put my arms out to him and he reached over to me, let go of the side of the playpen and took one step towards me! YAYYYYYY

Busy Bee

Saturday, July 3, 2010

We are super busy lately! First my friend Bryan was in town because he was on European tour with The Bronx and Gogol Bordello. Noah and I went to the venue, checked out the green room and hang out with the band. Too bad I did not ask Eugene Hütz to take a picture with Noah. I need to be on top of those things :). Later we walked all around town and I got to show Bryan my hood. After that my boss from London/ Houston was in town to visit with his 3 sons. It was a lot of fun and the best part, one of his sons in called Noah as well and I never knew that! They loved Noah! On Sunday two of my Austin friends came to visit. Crazy. First nobody comes to visit and now all at once. Amanda and Tommy came to visit for two days on their European trip. Tommy had to talk at a conference in Copenhagen and they decided to come see us and visit Paris after! They have a little daughter, Lily, and I can't wait for Noah to meet here when we are back in Austin!

Flights are super expensive right now and i don't know when Eric can come visit. It's driving me crazy, I really need to see him. Well, I guess he is coming for Noah's birthday - which is coming up and I can't believe that. He is almost 10 month old - almost ONE YEAR!

Mini Eric!

It's super hot right now (90 degrees) and noah doesn't like it. I guess he needs to get used to it. When we are back in Texas it's going to be brutal for him. He loves cold weather! I got him a little pool and he loves it. Yay Summer time!

And guess who loves to ride a bicycle?!?!

Nine Month Update

June 6th, 2010

Whoah, little-man, you’re full term today! 9 months old!

Noah is talking and laughing more than ever. Mostly he just says “da-da-da”, but he says it alot and often and points with his little finger. He loves to laugh and he loves to play with just about anything, he especially loves his books. He brings you the ones you should read out loud for him and he sits in front of his books and looks at the pictures. So cute.

Potty training is going so good, NO MORE POOPY DIAPERS! I really hope when I change to cloth diapers next month he will be done with the diaper business when he turns one.

Eating: He wants to eat all by himself now. Excuse me Mr. Independent, I have spinach all over me ;) He wants to eat what I have, as soon as he sees me eat he crawls over and makes funny noises - like he is begging for food. He loves veggies and fruit, actually he likes pretty much everything - I'll eat. He always wants some "finger food" in front of him so he can eat all by himself while I feed him (Usually cut banana and cucumber is fine).

Noah has definitely mastered crawling. No more scooting and now he is moving around everywhere. He is now able to go from crawling to sitting to laying down to sitting back up. No more just putting down the baby to do something really quick. He crawls at lightning speed when he sees something he likes to have. Fortunately he gives a little warning-sound before he "run's off" so I know when the trouble starts. He is grabbing whatever he possibly can and pulls himself up on furniture to stand and to grab more stuff. By the end of the day, we are both pretty much exhausted! He is getting into everything, checking everything out and trying to "taste and eat" everything. I hope he will master the word "No" soon, I am using it a lot lately. It is crazy how fast this all happened. First the scooting and right after crawling like a champ - soon walking! Uh oh. He really wants to walk already, usually pulling himself up on me and trying to take my hands and if I hold his hands off he goes. So cute.

Sleeping: Not so good. I still don't get it. He was a perfect sleeper since he was born. He just woke once or even sleeping through the night from birth to age 8 month. Now he wakes at least 4 times. Grrrr. He still takes two naps a day, at around 9am (oh yeah, he wakes up in the morning at 6am on the dot - hello little early bird?!) and after lunch, at 1pm. I am trying to figure this out, online and in my book it says it is normal because of all the new stuff he is learning right now and going through but nothing about how to fix it and when he will return to his normal sleep pattern. I am just hoping he will sleep better soon and sleep through the night. It's very hard to do this when your husband is not here and when you are the only one who have to get up EVERY NIGHT like that. I am not complaining, I got perfect sleep for the last 8 month, I know a lot of parents don't get any of that for the longest time.

Noah is just so freaking cute - his smile, his little voice, his everything! I love him so much!

He is holding his cup all by himself!

He loves when I make him little, vegan pancakes - he can hold and eat all by himself - perfect!

He loves the washing machine (pretty much every electronic devise) - especially during potty time!
